Program Description
Hear the world-renowned psychiatrist Frederick K. Goodwin, MD, discuss cognitive issues in bipolar disorder. Dr. Goodwin will review the cognitive deficits associated with bipolar disorder, highlighting their impact on functional outcomes, and will explore the possible cognitive effects of available and emerging therapies.

This activity consists of a prerecorded presentation (approximately 45 minutes) and a prerecorded question and answer session (approximately 30 minutes). Successful completion is achieved by listening to both the presentation and question and answer session while completing and submitting the posttest and evaluation form.

Educational Methods
Each teleconference will consist of a 45-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute interactive question and answer session with Dr. Goodwin. There is NO FEE for participating in this activity.

Each registrant may download a copy of the activity workbook on the bottom of this page. Registrants may request a printed workbook if unable to download.

Target Audience
The target audience for this activity is practicing psychiatrists and other clinicians who are actively involved in the management of patients with bipolar disorder.

Educational Objectives
Upon completion of this course, the participants should be able to:

  • Review aspects of cognitive dysfunction specific to bipolar disorder
  • Recognize the impact of cognitive deficits on functional outcomes in bipolar disorder
  • Evaluate data on cognitive effects of available and emerging treatment approaches
